Greater Los Angeles Area
The Hello World Program is an educational puppet show for kids of all ages that teaches programming, puppetry, and digital media with specific focus on Linux, Python & HTML5. It is the creative effort of brothers Jared, Clark and JR Nielsen. We grew up learning the skills necessary to create our own fun. Now we want to teach and entertain the youth of today. In addition to producing our show, we use Linux and open source software in our professional careers as web developers, educators, and museum exhibit technicians. Our collective speaking experience includes presentations at California State University, Long Beach; Outpost for Contemporary Art, Los Angeles; The Institute for Cultural Inquiry, Los Angeles; University of California, Irvine; Elsewhere Collaborative, Greensboro, NC; MAW, Minneapolis, MN and Maker Faire Bay Area 2013.
