As CEO of ownCloud, Markus T. Rex has nearly 20 years of open source experience behind him, including CTO of the Linux Foundation.  Throughout his career he was heavily involved in all critical areas of the Linux market, first with SUSE then Novell, including engineering, product architecture, management and marketing, and executive leadership. Prior to ownCloud, he served as senior vice president and general manager of Novell’s SUSE Linux Open Platform Solutions business unit. Previously he held the position of CTO for the Linux Foundation, where he led all technical initiatives and was also the primary technical interface to Linux Foundation members and the Linux Foundation’s Technical Advisory Board which represents the kernel community.  He has spoken at many industry conferences including LinuxCon.
